SPEAKING & CONDUCTING ENGAGEMENTS

Nick Strimple is available for performances, clinics, lectures and workshops on a variety of subjects including Holocaust music, choral music, 20th Century music, Jewish music, the music of Dvořák and other Czech composers, the aesthetics of sacred music, interfaith dialogue, and the continuing problem of genocide.

 

COMMISSIONS

An avid composer whose recent works include Three Sexton Songs (Anne Struggles with the Downward Slide), Harpsichord Concerto, and In My Craft or Sullen Art, Strimple writes both  original works and arrangements for chorus, voice, chamber ensemble, solo instruments, orchestra, film, television and recordings.

 

LITERARY WORKS

With scholarly achievements in diverse areas, Strimple is available to write articles, books and reviews. Recent publications include his latest book Choral Music in the Nineteenth Century (Amadeus Press), and Dvořák's Saint Ludmila: Genesis, Premiere, and Aftermath (American Choral Review, Winter/Spring 2006).
